Wastegate flapper

The wastegate flapper on my turbo has a gap inbetween the housing and the flap. Anyway to close it up, will this cause my boost to leak allot or is some expected?

You don't want any gaps... or leaks esp in that area. There might be a way to close it up.. ??? Weld it with love and care as to not harm the helpless flapper. :-\

a little leak isnt going to hurt your boost to bad. just consider it boost management :D

I would thread the wastegate rod, and suck the flapper shut...

Re:Wastegate flapper

Anyone have a picture of a 14b where the wastegate rod meets the flapper on the exhaust housing. The one I had was connected with a little peice of wire, took it off and now i can bring the flapper closed. How do i thread it?
