Wastegate is a bitch... T3/HF/BMC plate
I just got my BMC adapter plate so i am bolting up my turbo for my upcoming 1.5 mini-me turbo setup. anyways, i bolt up the turbo to the plate, and to my STD manifold, sit back and admire how sexy it looks.. then i try the test fit.
the damn wastegate is hitting the block and causing like 3/4" gap between the manifold and head.
I eventually hacked away enough of the wastegate hold down and rotated the compressor housing 20 different ways and *FINALLY* got it to fit all ghetto'd.
Anyways, i just want to know what some of you have done to get around this.. it seems like a major pain in the ***

btw, im not shitting myself or getting probed or any gay ---- liek that (stfu shortyz) im holding the turbo up with my left hand while taking the picture and i guess im weak

That looks like a t3 just like mine i too had the same problem. What i did i just too off the bolts and as you bolt on (the manifold w/turbo)itll hold it in place. If i knew how to post pics id show .
i dented the wasted gate a bit. and i grinded the block a bit too. i also moddified the flange that holds the wastegate, basicly i redrilled the holed that hold it to allow it to sit right next to the turbo housing. very tight fit but it works
I was going to but my WRX turbo seems to be doing quite fine...
Anyway, I was thinking about using another D-series exhuast flange sandwiched between the head and HF to bring it out another 1/2 or so... But that was just what I was thinking, never seen it done.
My WRX turbo was the same way. It just dented the wastegate a little, but nothing that would ruin it..
