wanna boost my d16z6

I have a 93 civic coupe ex. It has 164k on it and i want to boost it but i know that mileage is way to much to be boosting safely. I am not looking to run 10psi. Just want to be pushing like 5-6psi. I am more in it for the say so and the sound and alittle bit of the boost feel under my foot. What should i do? How much am i looking to spend and should i rebuild my motor? Also what should i use to rebuild my motor and how much will that cost. a fmic is unessasary right now because i am not looking for 260hp. hehe. let me know what everyone thinks. thanks guys...

Why don't you check the turbo projects? There is a 92 si with the same engine and about that many miles. If you just read the turbo/tech projects, FAQ and forums you will learn pretty quick.

If you wanna rebuild your Z6, order a rering kit from Napa. It cost like $200-300 and has most of the stuff you'll need to rebuild it. Or, you could take my route and blow $400 in gaskets at Honda and rebuild it. Either way, a rebuild isn't cheap. Just make sure you take it to a good machine shop that will give you actual specs when they hone the cylinders, not just an "It's Ok". I did that, and know I have a nasty case of piston slap, which is harmless but ever so annoying. Loud ass ticking from a motor 975 Miles on it is never good.

Also, if you want 260hp, you are gonna need some form of intercooler. Maybe you could do without if you had hondata or some other form of standalone, but not with the setups most people here are running.

im not looking for 260 hp.. but thanks much for the advice.. also shouldnt i build the motor not to stock specs? whouldn't i use parts that are ment for turbo applications. it is my daily driver after all and i dont want it to be in the shop all the time. short on the $$
