does anyone know anything about the vw 8v motor? my buddy just bought a 99 gti and wants to turbo it, what's it gonna take? I know this place is mostly about honda's, (that's why i'm here) but maybe someone can help. i just feel sorry for him 115 hp is pathetic. thanks

 

I don't know much, but I've read in a lot of places that that motor is ------' bulletproof. If he does get a turbo on that, he WILL get lots of power!

 

Tell him to get a T3/T4 Hybrid trim .60 or someting in that aeria.
And good fuelmanagement and boost to the sky

 

cool, he'll be stoked, i've been reading on vwvortex.com, and i'm pretty confident that with a nice turbo setup he will be past the perf. level of a 1.8t or VR6 which is what he really wanted. plus we're trying to start a car club and we can't have any slow cars in it. thx guys

 

ok, ,what GTi only has 115hp did he buy a TDI and some1 put a GTI Sticker on it!!!!

 

it's a 2.0 gti......regular gas motor...you must not be too familiar with vw's
