vtec with turbo not working
i got my turbo on my POS and its not boosting yet because the air is leaking out somewhere but when i rev the car up it doesnt sound like the vtec is kicking in, i have a 99' SI, is the sound reduction becasue the turbo is choking the exhaust?

Re:vtec with turbo not working
You probably won't hear the VTEC crossover with a turbo setup...at least I never did.

Re:vtec with turbo not working
hears another question for anyone , i this saab turbo and the way its fits on the manifold the oil outlet is facing sidways, i've read that its should be pointing straight down, exactly hpy important is that??

Re:vtec with turbo not working
It's actually very important..
The oil coming into the is forced.. However, the return line needs to be facing down because it's gravity fed.. meaning if it's not facing down, the oil will not flow as it should, and could coagulate in the line. |
Re:vtec with turbo not working
I believe vtec will not work unless you are driving. Also are you letting the car warm up enough for VTEC to engage? If you really feel as if VTEC is not working then you could wire up a "vtec light" just to see if it kicks on.

Re:vtec with turbo not working
indeed, the car should be under a load for the vtec to engauge.. It is a bit tougher to hear once you put a turbo on.
