heres a quick run down just got car its a 1.6 sohc vtec on 7lbs with garrett a.r 48 tuned on a safc, took off tial wastegate with the 7lb spring becuase i dont have the other spring for it, and put on my turbonetics wastegat with 9lb spring and car would boost past 4lbs,,,got frustrated and put the tial back on and still the same thing ont go past 5lbs,, wat the hell is wrong

exhaust leak

leaky charge pipe

look for a vacuum leak somewhere

 

vacuum leak would most likely cause higher boost bit it would show low on the guage.
i would check all charge piping, and exhaust leaks.

 

disconect the line to the wg and watch you boost spike up if no then theres your problem

bad turbo
bad piping (leak)

better be careful with that ^

 

my X ternal waste gate is nasty!

 

wen i rerouted my vaccum to wastegate it and took it for test run the valve cover burnt tiny hole in it,,change it now it runs great

 

dude, double check the OCzC valve, sound just like thats the problem.
