so you didnt have to weld anything, or cut anything, or put anything to block the spaces where air might pass through?

i went ahead and got it welded, it was like $20. ill take some pics and post em later, kinda lazy right now.

the other side is the same thing. the only thing i was worried about is not being able to break the weld if needed. but i should be able to break it with a flathead and hammer if i had to.

Yeah, you'll be able to get it off if need be. It'll be a pain in the ***, but definately do-able.

i think ill go with the gasket for now...im in the process of clockling that sucker and man its a pain in the a$$...so i decided to spray wd-40 for a couple of days...hoping it losens up a bit..

^ ahahaha did you see my thread? damn that thing took HOURS!!!!! get some PB blaster. and make sure you hit it out first then rotate it (if you know what i mean. like hit the center part where the oil lines are towards the compressor side, then loosen the bolts some more, hit it again, and loosen, etc.) then it rotates easily. but it might take a while, just dont get frustrated!!
