volvo intercooler
Hey guys theres a volvo 740 turbo at the U-pull-it near me. I was wonder has anyone used that intercooler before? It's pretty big, but it's more square than rectangular, and I was wonder how well it might work on say an eg civic or crx, seeing as how a good portion of it would be covered up by the bumper.
It looks like this noglet right here:

If theres oil in the intercooler and some of the piping, would it be safe to say the seals in the turbo are blown and I should stay away from that turbo?

On damn near any factory turbo car you can find oil in the ic pipes, intake, turbo etc. How much shaft play does the turbo have? Dont give too much for the turbo, you can get em pretty cheap if you shop around, ive seen em go on ebay for like $40 shipped.
Depending on what year it is it might have that fucked up roundish t3 on the hot side.
That ic pretty big, I doubt you NEED one that big, but hell if you can get it to fit in a eg, go for it. It probably wont be pretty, but who the ---- cares right?

What color is the interior? If its black, grab the plastic trim that goes around the sunroof/assorted dash switches and the climate controll. Its one big piece, it just snaps out. I'll give u 10+ shipping asap LMK. If its a wagon grab that chrome trim from the pass. side rear most window WITHOUT breaking the clips, and I'll be willing to put up more $$. LMK what else is good from it.
The car was a blue sedan 740, it had a brown leather seats, I can't remember though if it had a black dash or not. The car wasn't hit at all I think it was motor failure or something. it had 150,000 on the clock. What turbo came in those BTW?
Grab the turbo man. I've been running one for about a year now. If there is a bov grab that to, they work awesome and are adjustable. I left the intercooler when i pulled mine from the junkyard.

I thought about cutting it in half so it ends up being a more rectangular IC, How did the JB weld hold up on it?
Are all those volvos T3 flanged? because I know they used both garret and mitsub. turbos. I think this one might have a mitsu turbo.

Those IC's are crazy huge. That ****** would be dragging on the ground if you put it on there. Plus It's been awhile since I had my volvo but those stock fmic are like thin as hell and aren't that great at flowing.
