I have seen it done

You gotta cut some ---- to make it fit and its so tall it will hang alittle below the bumper cover

So go find something better like a saab 6inch frontmount

Plastic end tanks for the loss! I know some asshats will claim, "I ranz my Volvo fmic at 65psi on a 35 arhhh and it didn't leaks!" but the bottom line is that metal>plastic when it comes to intercoolers. You can get a Starion fmic for $50-$75 and it's all metal, fits well, and is a fairly decent core for low pressure set-ups. ---- man, I have a Chinese fmic I'll sell you for ass cheap if you're desperate. Bottom line is that if you're hoping to run any sort of real boost; you're going to hate the Volvo fmic. Unless you love boost leaks, weirdly routed piping, and hacking the absolute ---- out of your bumper and support.

Those things are ------- massive and just a chinese IC on ebay or like the other dude said. Find a newer saab since they have nice decent size fmic or even one from a Neon SRT4 or even a Evo. They are nice oem IC's and the prices are fairly decent. Otherwise since this is HMT, just hack off a section of it and break out the JB weld.

dont think it'll hold for 10-12psi on a gt-17. about the same cfm as 6/7lbs or so on a t3/t4? it is in perfect condision. as for the jb weld thats just a little to much hmt for me....lol.

how much would u want shipped on the ic to 49548

Quit being a -----. JBweld IS HMT. Hack the top half of it off, grab a piece of something to cover the hole on the end tank, and JBweld it in place.

What you MEANT to say is you don't think your setup can handle the power of JB weld and that you need something with a little less strength?

dude, you spend more time dicking around on this forum and you could have already tried this ---- out. If JB weld can cure diabeetus then it can fix your fail of a front mount. Just do it and report back. :1

yeah i ask questions, i dont just dive in head first and hope theres no sharks, i look first. im also on a rather tight budget and still getting the kit peiced together, im simply just making sure the parts i got will function properly! i dont just want the turbo kit, i want to know how it works, why what does wha,t and for what reasons...... i've learned alot in the past four or five months by searching, reading and asking lots of questions. i got a pretty good handle on how everything functions and what not im simply asking you guys, what parts from the junkyard are tryed and true. everyother site i am one 95% of everybody has there expensive turbo kits or at least a ebay kit and dont know a ton on these junkyard kits and what parts work well. and was given this sites name to check out and ask questions.

I have heard the starion (sp?) intercoolers are good, so are the stock evo or srt4 ICs for modest power. Some of the old ford and merkur (2.3 turbo) intercoolers are ok i guess. Some diesel junk yards may have some really nice cores to play with too. I would like to see an experiment performed to see the pressure and temp drops of popular junkyard intercoolers so that we all have a clearer understanding. I belive there are a few websites out there where this was done, it has been years since I saw one (turbo dodge forum I believe)

The ebay ones are sooo cheap and in many different sizes to fit your needs. I have found that the junkyard ICs are good when you can get em cheap from a u-pull it yard (usually under 20 bucks).

I like the Jb weld idea, I have two volvo fmic in my garage and may give it a shot. Anybody know what type of plastic to use that will take kindly to JB weld? I have one with particularly nice end tanks. I don't have my is300 ready to mount it on but I will give it a shot to see how it comes out. Gota use the dremel for something right?

jb weld is your best friend. i jb welded my smic end tanks and did a pressure test on it. 15psi and it still held strong. no leaks, no nothing. not sure how long it'll last though =P

Re: volvo fmic on 92-95 civic?????????

were they plastic or metal end tanks? is jb weld the best adhesive for this or would plastic epoxy work better. i would just use some of the spare plastic i would cut off to cap off the top but jb weld is more of a really good metal adhesive. ****hmmm what if i torched the peices on top like melt/ fuse the plastic back together and then epoxy the ---- out of it to make sure there is no leaks... think that might work better? i mean i got a little propane toarch lyin around from when i couldnt get a bolt loose on the rear suspention...i've been wanting to use it for somthin
