VF-34 (05 subaru turbo) Questions
 

A friend of mine is selling VF-34 turbo. For real cheap. I have a t3 manifold right now. I know I have to make an adapter plate. The motor has a Vitara/Eagle setup. I want 350 minimum whp. Will this turbo support that. Thanks in advance for any info. Motor is y7/y8

I was told dont go past 400 but it all depends on the tune. Just like the stock k-series that put out over 700

im not doing vitaras so i didnt research it
and if there is so many 400+ builds then why dont you just say that instead of saying there good for 300 and not to push it higher
say there is builds with 400+ hp and get it over with

when you say that 300 is max for vitaras and there is ppl with 400+ builds thats like stillnoturbo saying hes straight when in fact he walkes around with a fist shaped dildo up his ass all day

It's not so much the pistons that can't take it as the stock block sleeves. Vitara's can handle some ---- even though they're still cast, but mostly due to the fact they yield an incredibly low c/r. Low c/r + big boost = large hp potential.
As to the original question, yes...the vf-34 should get you to the 350hp mark, but don't expect to push it much further. After that it's all pretty much going to be hot air.

400 horsepower has been hit a few times on vitaras. its the sleeves that give out.

just some subaru info for you.


The VF34 did not come stock on ANY subarus in production. The TD04 came on the WRX's and the VF39 came on the STi's. The VF34 is larger than the VF39 but I do not think it is capable of 350whp. On subarus with a good tune you are looking at 260 WHP on a 2.0 motor, ofcourse there are instances of 300whp on some engines but its rare. just an fyi

Vf34 came stock on one model and it was a very limited model at that...jap verison rally edition sti-ra rated at 287hp. More than likely it's some type of turbo upgrade kit or from a kit for subies that he ran across. Seems to be a hot turbo upgrade for plain jane wrx's.

yes, you are right. I didnt write my post correctly. US production subarus have never come with VF34s.
