Vacuuming instead of boosting
Hey guys, for some reason my boost gauge is showing vacuum instead of boost. the needle sweeps backwards. I can say what it does at idle since the car doesn't really idle yet (car is a work in progress).
Thanks for your help! |
Re: Vacuuming instead of boosting
its not going to show boost unless their is a load on the motor. If it dosent idle i wouldnt think your out driving it around? Get it running good and then take it out for a drive, their probably isnt a problem with the boost gauge ;)

Re: Vacuuming instead of boosting
have you actualy drivin the car on the road to see if it even builds boost?

Re: Vacuuming instead of boosting
No it hasn't been driven on the road yet. Only started it for the first time yesterday, and the car is unregistered. We just noticed the boost gauge reads about 20psi vacuum when it's revved. Can hear the trubo spooling though.

Re: Vacuuming instead of boosting
well at idle it's always gonna be in vacume. you might hear the turbo.. but unless it's under some load, where it can actualy start to really spool up.. then you'll see it kreeping up into boost

Re: Vacuuming instead of boosting
You need to load the engine by driving it to see boost.Let it rip and then tell us what happened.
