Vacuum Sources and an Idea for a Cooler TB...
 

I have my boost gauge hooked up to the FPR line. That's okay, correct? Okay, now for the BOV can I hook it up or rather tee the cruise control vacuum line? I still have cruise control, but by teeing it, it won't draw or mess anything up with cruise will it? Basically I don't want to run a 2nd tee on my FPR and my uncle pointed out the cruise line and was curious if I can run my BOV off of that.


Number 2. He also had the idea of blocking of the anti-freeze line that goes from the head to the TB to keep it from freezing in the winter. Basically his idea was to get a valve and close off the lead in and the out (before and after the TB) to stop anti-freeze from going in and out of the TB to allow it to remain at a normal temperature. I'm sure someone has thought of this or done it so has if anyone could help out and let me know how well it really works or if it is even appicable I'd be very apperciated. Sorry for the 2 long questions/posts. Thanks guys!

the coolant lines up by your TB run the IACV.

If you block that, your car is gonna run like ass, at least until its up to operating temp.

What are you doing for your pcv/catch can setup?

I used the fpr vac line for my boost gauge, and I am now going to use my old vac line on the intake manifold that used to go to the pcv valve to power the bov.

I don't have my stock intake so there isn't a hole for the vacuum source there. Is it alright to tee the cruise control then?

I haven't had the IACV or FITV coolant lines hooked up for years, starts fine even in sub-freezing winters. Although I don't see any difference in IATs once I get rolling, so who knows how worth it this really is.

I have the BOV hooked up right now through the crusie control. I just tee'd it off their and ran the line back to the RFL. However, I did it to get it done and no worries, but I'm still n/a. Does it really matter if I have it hooked up while it's still n/a? I don't see why not just won't do much of anything. Then again when I tap the gas the valve close and kinda claps as it closes. Is that normal? It's just closing really hard, like when you spike the gas from idle and it's open then it shuts really quick and makes a clap noise. Everything alright though with this. Didn't want to clutter FI with a new thread and dumb, quick question so here it is. Thanks guys!

Bump for a quick answer. I plugged the line to the BOV, but should it still make that "slap" noise when it seals shut when it is hooked up and I hit the throttle?
