Using Silicone hose for oil drain?

I wonder has anyone use silicone hose for their oil drain on their setup? I am asking this is it's more flexible then the steel braided ones. Would it stand up to the oil for long term use?

I don't think it would be suitable for long term use, maybe as a short time repair ???

Well, I did a search and some silicone hoses are NOT compatible with fuel and oil. The oil return fitting on the greddy turbo is way to big for a -10AN SS line to fit on there. So, seeing that a silicone hose you force it in the fitting. Just hope it last a while till I can find a solution to this. here is a pic of it.

I wouldn't trust a silicon hose for oil drain. At least use a fuel hose...they're pretty inexpensive.

I've been using silicone hose for my oil return line. However the car is not a daily driver. So far the car has been driven to the track, tuning along the way. It made 6 full 1320 passes and home with a bit of boosting away from the track. Oh yeah I don't even have the liquid cooled section of my turbo hooked up either. No leaks yet....

Just go to an autoparts store that lists temp ratings for their oil/fuel compatible flex hoses. I got the highest rated one they had. It was like $10 a foot. I'll send you a pic once I get home as I am currently on vacation.....

Actually I just saw your pic(yay 4 56k) I think you and I have the same silicone tubing. Is yours orange/red inside with fiber braid?

Good to see I'm not the only one that visits the site while on vacation.

Yah, this is the one with double layer with "brown or redish color in the middle". It is reinforce fiber around it too. I asked around, and these are made for chemicals, it's not the ones for vacuums lines which is are in solid color only.
