USING DSM 450 WITH ZEX SET UP ok?
i have a 96 civic, and i was wondering if i threw in some dsm 450 injectors, what else whould i need , i wana make sure that im running rich when i am using the nitrous, im guess ill need a hi flow fuel pump and what else, is it as simple as just throwing in the injectors with the resitors and they will give more fuel, any ideas??

id move this out of forced induction, but i dont know to where. You use a fuel solenoid to deliver more fuel with nitrous, not bigger injectors. you would need something to control them (like an afc), but when you were off the bottle you ,would run like ----. I guess you could make it work, but why.
yea sorry chouldnt think of anywherr else to put, , yea the zex kit owrks when it is engaged it does give u more fuel, im just wondering if its gonna be enough for a 75 shot
i forgot the website but there was a guy that used it and a fuel preesure gague, dont not if it totally true but he said when to notrious kicked in his fuel pressure went up 10 psi, maybe hes full of it though,
To help you guys out a little the zex kit ups the fuel presure from about 39-40psi to 80ish psi... It basiclly works just like a FMU on a turbo..
9 bottles on a 155K D15B2 and no problems don't lie, the zex is prob. the safest kit there is, even though it tends to produce a little lower power than any given "shot". A bottle heater is also a must to get proper power out of a zex as it monitors bottle presure, if the presure is low, the FMU doesn't raise the fuel and less nitrous plus less fuel equals less power..
I ran the 75 shot pills with a bottle heater, stock fuel pump, and stock injectors... best time in a fully normal 89' H/B was 15.1 ( K&N, punched cat, MPFI swap, and 75 shot stock 155K clutch too )..
My IC pipe came off on my 10psi HMT in 3rd gear and I beat that time by 0.1
Best outta 15-20 track runs on the nitrous = 15.1 @ 89mph
Only using 1-2- and half of 3rd with 10psi turbo = 15.0 @ 74mph
ONLY clean run with my 10psi turbo was 14.6 @ 94mph with low compression ratio..
Save for a turbo, but nitrous is a GREAT power "fix", but I spent $240 the first month on nitrous that could have gone towards a HMT kit...

You will need a fucken bottle warmer pretty much whereever you are. If I were you jake, I'd watch where I put those nitrous bottles as they can heat up pretty damn fast in the sun and you'll blow out the relief valves and lose ur $50 per 10lb of N20...
In terms of how the nitrous kit works... 89dx is RIGHT ON! You don't need to upgrade your injectors but then again thats your call. I wouldnt upgrade it to 450cc just because it would be such a hassle managing them. Upgrading them to newer stock injectors or to 310cc fuel injectors would not be a bad idea--thats if you question the state of your own injectors.
I've run ZEX on B18's, B16's and D16's -- all do fine with stock internals and stock fuel management. I'm pretty confident you will be fine with your stock internals and stock fuel management, but IF i were you
1) I'd follow the DIRECTIONS WORD FOR WORD (since you aren't too sure of what you are doing)
2) retard the timing (as the instruction says)
3) add a bottle of those octane boosters to up the octane in the gas. Oh yea MAKE SURE YOU'RE USING AT LEAST 91 octane!
4) Check your damn spark plugs or at least put new ones in--both ZEX and NGK spark plugs do just fine...
All of these are to ensure that you dont blow ---- up... Over all it's a great setup and very easy to use. It is literally plug and play. Anyways PM or post message if you any any more questions with ZEX. Ill do my best to help you out.

The 450s isn't a good idea b/c DSM 450cc injectors can put out an insane amount of fuel at 80psi !!! It doesn't matter if you injectors are 100cc or 1000cc, either way the zex kit is going to make it sky rocket..
Only thing I think my be a good idea is a new/upgraded fuel pump if your using anything over the 55shot. With the 75 shot on the interstate I could watch the fuel presure drop from about 80 to about 75psi b/c I had a stock fuel pump that could make a none stop 80psi...
Just a heads up, but oct. booster is a HUGE waste of money.. If the bottle says " raises oct. 8 points" and you add it to 93oct. your end up with 93.8oct, not 101oct.
Xylene is a much better "oct. booster" and it works a lot better too.
I ran 116oct the first few times at the track with the 75shot b/c I was a little "scard" of nitrous, but I soon relaxed and squeezed it on 93oct too.
2 stages colder plugs would be a good idea too. I swear by cheap ole NGKs, but that's your choice..
Knocking the timing down a few degrees is a really good idea..
Nitrous doesn't kill motors, "uninformed peopel" do.
Make sure the vaccum lines that come with the zex kit fit on everything nice and tight, its not happy when they come off in the middle of a nitrous run..
