I'd like to see how your going to fit a 13inch wheel over itr brakes.

hmm good point, I think i might rock the rear conversion until I figure out what else I need to do to get some good slicks under there

Random question relating to the previous heat transfer off topic debate:

You have a standard 14ga copper wire carrying a couple amps of current. Basically the wire is hot. Will the wire be cooler if it is bare copper or will it be cooler if it has plastic insulation over it like a regular house wire?

Wire is covered to keep it from grounding out on other metal.... but if you're talking theoretically, it would stay cooler without the plastic because the heat is then being conducted straight from the wire to the air instead of being insulated by plastic. But if you are using the proper thickness of wire, it really shouldn't get hot like that.

[Tangent]
The wire with insulation is actually cooler. This is because the although the conduction heat transfer resistance increases a little the convection heat transfer resistance decreases quite a bit due to the increase in surface area. It comes down to something called the critical radius. If you add insulation while you are below the critical radius it will increase heat transfer. If you are above the critical radius and add insulation it will decrease heat transfer. Just random bullshit from my heat transfer class this semester.

Anyways...there are three types of heat transfer, convection, conduction, and radiation. When you paint the manifold black you are very slightly increasing the conduction heat transfer resistance. The convection heat transfer resistance pretty much stays the same and the radiation heat transfer resistance will increase.

Assuming the manifold is at a higher temperature than its surroundings(i think that is a fair assumption) the radiation heat transfer will increase because it will more closely act as a blackbody. I doubt the temperature difference is very big so i doubt the difference in heat transfer is really going to matter.

Sweet manifold

"geezes ----, how will that turbo fit in there?" says my manifold fabricator. lol

got the motor installed as mockup for my 3" IC piping, 4" exhaust & custom twin scroll dual 38mm WG manifold

car looks good, need to ------- repaint my intake mani though, got all fucked up and the paint got runs in it. so when i have time i will take it off and sandblast & repaint.

Pics to come ------ bought a shitload more stuff for it

put on my aeromotive FPR on my BDL bronze fuel rail, ------- mad tyte.
