The burn pattern on those pistons looks good, no sign of detonation or anything. I guess the rod really did just ---- itself - congrats on making a ------- ton of power.

That rod didnt break from to much power it broke from a rod bearing failure. My buddys 500whp stock block LS-vtec had a 40psi boost spike on the dyon and the stock rod didnt break just bent a little

Did you not see the pics of the spun bearings? he had to replace the bearings after the 11.75 pass because it was knocking after that run

Uh, what caused that? Normally it's detonation that drives the upper bearing so hard against the crank that the oil film parts and there is repeated contact until failure. There is obviously no detonation in that combustion chamber.

Have no idea what oil pressure was. My gauge ------- konked out and I just rolled like that for a month until the hmt meet when i put a new sensor in. I first started noticing the knock in ashcroft while racing. I think it had something to do with the launch control and rev limiter being smashed to ---- repeatedly. I was using royal purple at the time. The rod bearings were still stock with who knows what kind of damage on them from JDM land. My guess is that the rod got bent a little on the first set of bearings and throwing more boost/rpm at the thing made it window the block. ( except the fact that the only rod that was eating bearings was #1 and not #3 where the rod shot out. I will clean that piston off and take pictures for you guys when I pull the motor.

When electric gauges go bad, it's usually a flake of bearing material clogging the sending unit. I buy them as "bad" and clean + resell them.
