Updated turbo project pics: my poor man's turbo 911< it's a CRX!

Thanks for all the useful info I got from reading here. It may not look HMT but it certainly is, even if the mani, and downpipe are from a kit (Apexi 92+ Civic kit). Everything has been chopped, welded and hammered into place. A quick breakdown.

ZC rollerwaves, eagles, 450's, zdyne, ect
Laskey rebuilt p&p head, ss exhaust valves, stock HG
Z10 crossmember
KAAZ LSD
Apexi civic turbo kit, all SS charge piping
ACT pressure plate/Clutch Net disk
Progress adj. coilovers
profec b (where the clock was)
C&R custom radiator is OEM EF height and 1/2 sized. Fits without hacking or leaning back.
A double DIN stereo surround holds 42 Draft Designs 3 gauge pod. All VDO gauges.

oh yeah, most of the swearing and fabbing came from retaining AC. What a biatch.

Let's move on to the pics...

Wow, what a setup :D Looks great! Have you run it at the track or dyno yet? AC is definately a pain in the ass to work around. But you managed to do it and keep it looking real clean. nice job.

It has just come off the stands. I had however been autocrossing it before it went under the blade. We will be starting it hopefully in a few days. The goal is reliable daily driven 210+whp @ 10psi. And max at 14 which should be the top end on the Apexi setup. The dual BB turbo should flow very well and I'm looking forwrads to a very nice torque curve. I was going to follow up a previous post on the build but it had been too long since I had made it!

Here it is before the ZC rebuild:

Definately nice, and I think a goal of 210 at 10 psi are reasonable numbers. I think it's a very good possibility that with a little tuning you can hit those numbers easilly.

Looking good and all, but there is still no comparison to a honda and a porsche.. no matter how much work and money you dump into it, the end result will not = a porsche.

Sorry to burst your bubble, I'm just a porsche fan.

Aww man! What about the VDO guages? They come in a Porche!

Hey that's ok! I'm truley a Porche fan myself too. So you must know that a 911 turbo of about any vintage is going to cost more than this project. I guess I coulda bought a 944 turbo for about the same, but then it cost a fortune just to get new brake pads! Hear out the vision for this project. The plan was to make a drivers car that had look like it coulda come from the factory. The CRX already has that nice sloping back. 2 door, 2 seater. No racing seats, I'm using a set of SiR seats. JDM ITR steering wheel that has a nice H emblem. A single pillar pod. Turbo, AC. It has solid clean setup, with integration and sophistication, and most certainly is MY "poor man's 911"

And I will challenge any Porche on the track! I'm not saying I would win, but hey I would get to see some nice cars if they showed up!

BTW did you notice the Porche in the background? It's a full race version. Actually under the tarp is another, and that one is a 911 Turbo. And of course a Viper.

Damn, nice professional setup you got going on there. I've always wanted a porsche, I'm going to try and find maybe a 1974+ one of these days in need of bad restoration and make it a long term project. Who did your paint? I like how the engine bay looks as clean as the rest of the car.
