how much horse power is the smaller tyrus intercooler good for until it becomes inefficient?

 

The 5 inch tyrus intercooler is good to about 275 hp. If you plan on more horsepower than that get the 6 inch tyrus intercooler. I emailed tyrus and that's what he told me when he replied. I think the 6 inchers go for $210. You don't get much of a better deal than that.

 

damn! i already have the smaller one, and my goal was 300hp can i still do it? what are the side effects of having to small of a intercooler?

 

you wouldnt reall notice the difference until you changed the intercooler. you can certainly hit 300 horses, but youll have the boost turned way up. the side effect could be killing your turbo because your intercooler is choking your flow system... just man up and spend more.

 

i just paid $250 shipped for a Tyrus 6inch...

either way it wasnt my 250, i got mine for 210shipped but that was on the GB a long *** time ago...

 

You can make 300whp on the 5inch IC.. I plan on making well over 400 on the 6incher

 

the 6 inch only has one more tube so i figure it cant make that much of a difference......right?

 

The 5 inch intercooler will be fine.
