Twin charging does actually work. (now with a small vid)

Hi folks,

Saw the thread about twin charging so though about showing our latest project a twin turbo + compressor setup for a Peugeot engine. It's not done yet, but will be in a few weeks. So more pics and a vid will be available then.

Beautiful craftsmanship..... I can't help but to be curious of how you are going to run the charge piping/intecooler set-up?

Been done plenty of times but doesn't get good results with amatures:

what internals are you going to use ?
because this project is pointless without forged internals
at least on a 1.4 engine
what boost are you planning to use

Re: Twin charging does actually work.

Maybe a dump question here, but why? Just run a shitty ammount of boost out of 1 turbo. :)

Still a kick ass setup though, im sure theres a ---- load of fab work behind that. :6

Re: Twin charging does actually work.

Yups, been awhile since i posted here.

Why did we make it like this? How do you call this, ---- and giggles? Well the guy just wanted something different and it would be a nice challenge for us to get everything in the engine bay and working. The engine is going to be build but not just yet, so no insane power levels but these type of engines can handle a nice bit of boost in stock form.

Re: Twin charging does actually work.

that wrx is unnecessary. 2 turbos and a supercharger under a hood where the enigne barely clears :S

------- thing must have like 438733 lbs of boost.

Pieter, it looks like you taped together the timing belt so it would be long enough. I have had trouble myself finding custom length belts.

Good luck!

What model SC is that?

holy ---- I only now noticed that.. I dont think he taped it because it was too long, seems he used toothed belt part on one side and half on the other--I guess so as to be able to have the same belt spin both clockwise and counterclockwise? How does that actually work Pieter, and how were you able to patch it together...

also are you doing turbos first, feeding the charge to the SC? this way, isn't the SC becoming a flow blocker at high rpms?

i have lots more questions but 'nuf for now

Re: Twin charging does actually work (Now with a small vid).

Well, we finally got almost all the work done and the engine is running. Here a few more pics and a link to a vid of the engine running. Since we started it pretty late last night we haven't driven it yet, still have to tune the engine.

hey are there two holes in the dump tube for the top turbo?

anyways, we need a video of the triple charged puegot in action very soon, definitely gonna be needing a new keyboard after that.

Re: Twin charging does actually work. (now with a small vid)

gives me more motivation I'm using sc14 supercharger on my d16z6 then later with ts04 to reach 25+ psi.
Looking @ the sc14 running between 2k and 6k rpms. Then have the turbo already @ full boost @ 5k to 7k for the high end.
If done right i'll good amount of torque when needed. I ahbe a clutch on the supercharger so If I have the supercharger disenged the the turbo wont spool up
until maybe 7k rpms. I'm planning posting pict. on the setup of the supercharger soon I have to make brackets to mount the sc14 in such a way that I run the super in the right direction clokwise. The d16z6 is a counterclockwise rotoating motor. But it gives me an oportunity to run all the piping on the passenger side .

Awesome work will we be seeing dyno run results or some sick runs on a track or something. Some circles this supercharge and turbo together is called "Compoud Boosting".
