just a stab in the dark, but i know that if the snaprings are rusted or not installed correctly it will cause it to not sit flush. so has it been rebuilt or anything?

A real kkk k03 is good not crap, spools like lightning. There's KKK's on a LOT of high end european stuff, they got bought out by Borg Warner, they still make them the exactly the same way. Check out the stats on it here, it's a pdf (9.86mb) but it will show you the different k03's and k04's so you can see what you got and then take what you want from the pdf. : http://www.airwerksboosted.com/Files...talog-2007.pdf
Put it in a vice and blow air throught it with a compressor, see if it's spinning nice now. What are you putting it on?

snap rings only go in one way , most have a beveled edge ;) could cause slight stiff in one spot
