turboing a carbd car
good to be back. ive just got a civic dx but its a 1300 engine with a carb how would i manage the turbo on a carbd engine
some ppl said just put bigger jets in and chuke the turbo on and seal the air box what do you think as ive never dun it on a carb |
Re: turboing a carbd car
You need to make a complete enclosure for the carb to pressurize, called a blow-by setup I believe. Supposedly its not that hard if you can tune carbs.

NM its Blow-through not blow-by. And I guess you don't allways have to enclose the whole carb. |

Get a mallory 4309.
This is the one i used for my carbed turbocharged chevy V8. I'm going to use the same one again on my Honda. Be sure to get a big enough fuelpump. I'm just using a carb hat on the carb (weber). Also check if your carb doesn't have a vacuum secondary valve. If it has.........throw it away. Find one with mechanical secondaries. Attachment 38517 like this one. Good luck. |
