turboing a carbd car
 
good to be back. ive just got a civic dx but its a 1300 engine with a carb how would i manage the turbo on a carbd engine
some ppl said just put bigger jets in and chuke the turbo on and seal the air box
what do you think as ive never dun it on a carb

You need to make a complete enclosure for the carb to pressurize, called a blow-by setup I believe. Supposedly its not that hard if you can tune carbs.

NM its Blow-through not blow-by.

And I guess you don't allways have to enclose the whole carb.

thats what i thought with closing the carb in a box but would i need a fmu

Get a mallory 4309.
This is the one i used for my carbed turbocharged chevy V8.
I'm going to use the same one again on my Honda.
Be sure to get a big enough fuelpump.
I'm just using a carb hat on the carb (weber).
Also check if your carb doesn't have a vacuum secondary valve.
If it has.........throw it away. Find one with mechanical secondaries.

cheers thanks alot so its a peas of piss then
enclos the carb
make shure thers enuf fuel i.e. pump jets
and boost away
