Turboing a 1000cc 60° VTwin
 

Hello everyone,
in the last couple of years I've been practicing a lot on engine tuning / ecu swap etc on my motorbike. Actually i'm running an aftermarket megasquirt like ECU, swapped engine, ported heads, machined pistons, tuned cam timing and many other nice things, loved the learning path it required.

I'm doing plans for the next winter, steel liners, bigger bore (1127 cc) and maybe...a turbocharger

Now, I know nothing about turbos...as you can imagine on a motorbike space is limited and VTwins have the exhaust ports very far one from another so I were thinking to use only one cylinder to spin the turbo (the front one), I can imagine a quite big plenum would be necessary, I think I can reach 30 liters (maybe 25, maybe 35 actually its just a rough estimation) by using the under-the-tank area, but my question for you experts is...would the exhaust gases energy of a single cylinder able to spin a turbine to provide pressurised air for both cylinders ?

The first question I would do seeing this very question would be, "yeh but which pressure ?" hmm 5/8 psi ?

engine max rpm would be around 10500

Yes but your turbo exhaust housing would have to be much smaller. It's best to run the exhaust from both cylinders.
