Turbocharging my Jeep

Well, I own a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 L I-6, aside from searching for a project civic hatch or 240 i have always had this urge to boost the jeep, im almost positive there arent any kits out there, so what do you guys think? Is it worth doing, and if so how much do you think it woudl run me to put together a custom kit? Just lookin for some feedback, thanks ;D

depends if you can buy steel and weld your own ----.

they're lots of supercharger kits for those engines.

I-6 is my favorate engine design. V-6s are general weaker b/c the maincaps.

A turbo jeep at even low boost would make some sick ass torque, just don't plan on running vettes down...

but it would make it a MUCH better "hauling" machine.

inline 6s are all torque no revs. at least OHV ones.

v6 are far superior in all aspects.

Re:Turbocharging my Jeep

my 89 supra turbo is inline six and while it does not turn the revs like a V, it has great torque

if you can make a manifold, the rest would be pretty easy (making sure you have room under hood) the ct-26 turbo from my car would probably work pretty well, as would a t3/t4
go for it and post pics

Re:Turbocharging my Jeep

The supra is a inline 6... need I say more ? The skyline is an Inline 6, need I say even more ?? I could go into it, but I don't feel like it. Just know that my best friend is a HUGE Buick guy that owns 3 different V6's and he even agrees that I-6 is better.

Of course the Jeep one prob. isn't the best, but an OHV I-6 sounds better than an OHV V-6.

2JZ, no ---- !!!

Re:Turbocharging my Jeep

There is no difference, besides the amount of room in a V-6 and an inline 6 you guys are nuts.
Of course, the V engines force the pistons to be angular, creating a different formation of stroke (hence why there is so much different of a noise in their strokes).
Torque is completely generated by displacement, chasis, and transmission. The V6 against the I-6 is still doing exactly the same thing, except the V6 takes up alot less space so a bigger motor can be fit in a same size chasis.

Supras are not the best cars on the world, neither are skylines, sorry to burst your bubble.
