Turbocharging a Legend

Has anybody heard of or actually turboed an acura legend themselves or any other 6 cylinder. ???

I can get a audi turbo and intercooler and hoses at a local junkyard but was wondering if i could put it on my car. Thanks.

P.S. I can weld and fabricate to some extent.

Re:Turbocharging a Legend

you would either have to make it twin turbo or get a collector of some sort. it is very possible. a buick grand national is a v6 turbo from the factory. make you could use some parts from that setup.it's not much but it's a start

Re:Turbocharging a Legend

a guy i worked w/ had an early model legend... neat car... but parts where pricy and space is VERY tight in that engine bay... good luck man

that being said somone was telling me not long back about a single bank turbo system that saab uses on the V6 motors... it's low boost so it works fairly well from what i'm told

basicly you put a turbo on one of the turbo banks, my guess is most commonly is the rear bank, but could always be the front if thats where space permits, from there you run your charge pipes and such, so one bank is running the old NA exhaust and the other is pushin the turbo... i found this idea very neat, i'd love to try it on a mazda mx3 1.8L v6 :)... but it may be an idea for ya to start with.

hehe this topic was beaten to death in the acura legend forum, basically only one person ever did it. Used a twin turbo setup for a drag car, the engeine stuck out of his hood.

Re:Turbocharging a Legend

I have been interested in picking up a 90 Legend coupe so i started reading up in the legend forums again and some guy and AZ just did a single turbo setup. The numbers were not to impressive but it was a low boost setup and he had a photo shoot done for sport compact car so i would imagine it would show up in the next few months. Check out the link if it works:

Looks like a nice setup and really clean car.

Re:Turbocharging a Legend

Do a search on google...The Legend was one of the
few cars that came turbocharged from the Honda
factory. They didn't make many of them but i've
seen several good websites with some good pics of
the turbos and intercooler (I think it was twin
turbo and 6 speed).

Jason :)
