Default turbocharger question

I had a watercooled Garrett T3 .42/.48 from a Saab which I destroyed and the thing made my car haul *** in every gear, I had a spare turbo also from a Saab to replace this one when it finally fucked up this is an Airesearch T3 .42/.48 non-watercooled. My question is why does this turbo not pull as hard? it is in a lot better condition than the other turbo ever was. Any ideas?

Not a vac leak its all good under there

Also another quick question both of these turbos i got had actuators with them and the first on only pushed out 4psi so i thought it was fucked and put a bleed valve inline to push the pressure up, so when i put the 'new' one on i also used the 'new' actuator this also only lets the turbo push out 4psi, is this right? I thought they were meant to be more like 8

They could use different trim wheels as well.

anyone know any web sites with good saab info?
I was looking at a Saab in the scrap yard today and there was this APC on it, does anyone else have one of these installed on their car, i was wondsering if it was worth it and was thinking that this might be the reason why it is only hitting 4 psi as it is like a stepped boost controlled

i think that one being water cooled and the other not being water cooled would make a difference. the cooler the air the more power you will make.

I dont know **** but thats a new concept for me!

I just thought having a turbo watercooled just prolonged the life of the turbo and its inner parts rather than acutally increasing the amount of power gains that you got.

My bet is on the compresser turbine fins.

cha ching, turns out this is the problem there are apparently, according to this website i just looked at for saabs, three different trim .42.48 T3's that saab use to start with I had the middle one then replaced it with the lowest flowing one, so now i just got one off a 2.3 16v turbo this is the best one apparently, hope it goes well
