turbocharge eclipse gs
 

hello all. just wanna know if anyone has done a custom setup for an eclipse gs/rs. i plan on doing one and was wondering if anyone had any info. i haved a t3 garret a walhbro fuel pump and a vortech fmu. i plan on getting a fmic and a external wastegate, oh and a bov. but other than that, i need to know if this is complete and if it will be hard to get the piping done (downpipe and manifold).

Which engine do you have in your car? the 420a? or the 1g 4g63?

I don't ever see much support in that area. I've checked all over google, and couldn't hardly find anything related... it really sucks. My good friend wanted to do the same thing.

Well depending on what engine you have... the 4g63 non-turbo could be a good canidate for a full dsm turbo setup. I dont see why it couldnt work, yes the motors are built differnetly (differnt pistons/ecu setup etc) But I am sure people have done it.

The exhaust ports on both the heads are the same. Most the parts are interchangable.

The 420a however is a different story, cough neon motor cough..

i have a 420a motor. i know there 2 different kits out in the market. hahn racecraft and star but hahn is supposed to be the better of the two. problem is, i dont really wanna spend 3500$$ for a stage 2 setup. im only looking to run 7-8 psi daily , but, be able to adjust the boost when im racing. what i got right now is pretty much what the star kit comes with.. t3/t4 turbo, vortech fmu, intank fuel pump, minus the fmic and the piping, bov and manifold. what do you think?

Dont get me wrong, the 420a can handle some boost, I just dont like them. I really dont see why you couldnt build a custom kit, just like anything else. You may want to do some reading up on some dsm boards to see what others have done for fuel management on their setups.

what does the Hahn kit come with for fuel management?

i never believed it before my friend did some research for his 420a, but they are great when you turbo them. with just a simple kit they get like 250-275....jeff i believe the hahn kit just uses an afc and a re-wired fuel pump but im not sure (depends what level kit too)
