Is this turbo worth it?
I'm looking for a new turbo set up and i was wondering what you guys thought about this turbo on a d16z6, mildly built.

Re:Is this turbo worth it?
Looks nice, but I'm kinda scepticle...looks a bit like the same thing SS-Chrome is selling. I hope it doesn't die in a week or so

Re:Is this turbo worth it?
correct me if i'm wrong but that looks to be just oil cooled
that's not bad if racing and you can afford to replace it, but i would want a water/oil cooled one for a street car as it will last longer(depending on the weight of your right foot) |
Re:Is this turbo worth it?
thats not entirely true in my opinion...if a turbo is designed to be only oil cooled, its different than if it was setup for both and you left the water unhooked....some cars came factory with turbos what were only oil cooled

Re:Is this turbo worth it?
id say its a tad too big for a d series motor also its not internal wastegated so its more work and parts to buy which means more cash.

Posted by: 99TurboSI its not internal wastegated so its more work and parts to buy which means more cash. http://www.stockreco.com/Mvc-po09bbv.jpg See this picture looks like it has three of the five holes for an external waste gate. http://www.stockreco.com/Mvc-djwqp0f.jpg Here you can see the other 2.....that makes 5 so you just need the wastegate and the exhaust flange with the waste gate flapper. If it were externally wastegated it woul only have 3. But I guess that doesnt matter couse it is a little big for a z6. |
