Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
Pretty damn nice.
I especially like the wg elbow, gives a good wastegate/dumptube location. Ripper vids... |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
You have one too many tachs. lol
is that a 45 or 50 trim T3? How much boost are you running from it? |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
csaddact did a killer job making that wastegate elbow for me. if i mounted it straight on the manifold it was hitting the stock hood. so i got the elbot and it fit perfect. but then when i put the carbon fiber hood it was hitting, go figure. grabed the sawzall and did a lill chopping. fits good.
i am not sure what trim the turbo is. all i know its a saab 42/48 t3. i am not actually driving the car yet cuz i dunno what i did with my 459 injectors. i got some rc 310 i might have to use for now. i dont plan on running more then 9psi the engine is complelty stock. i got another a6 block that i am gonna build and throw a y7 head an boost like 15psi. i am actually putting something together now so i can get a ectune package with the ebc. i will def post some vids, expecially of the exhauts, its is soo quiet, its perfect. |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
That gold ef is the nicest ef i have ever seen!
I'd ---- that cars brains out! Ef hatches are the ----. |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
nice job. im trying to get a kit together for my 89 si dohc zc ef. i love these cars. what does your buddy have done to his? other than pointless jdm and that ugly paint? any go?
but nice kit, it looks really clean for your first time. post up some vids when you get her running right. |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
he got a pretty nice lsvtec set up, it moves.
|
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
clean car. nice setup.
|
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
on the pic of my hmt downpipe, do you see where the two pipes are welded. can i tap for my wideband right under that weld. is that too close to the turbo?
also i got a 70mm throttle body from chris. i was gonna get a port matched skunk2 manmifold but chris claims his ported stock manifolds are better. if chris said it, then it must be true. my only question is should i use my z6 intake or my y8 intake for this set up |

Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
yeah but my main question is z6 vs y8
|
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
i believe y8 has better flow.

Your wrong z6 is the way to go. The y8 runners suck arse. Make sure to buy the spacer plate from me the gains for the price are well worth it |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
Put the Y8 on your car for now, Send the Z6 to chris have him do what he does
Get the 70mm tb and plate then put all that on there and feel the difference Afew years ago I bought the skank2 im with their tb it was 68 or 70mm i can't remember cause the tb was junk from jump so i didn't use it Anyways i used it for awhile then sold it to rosario and he had it for awhile then he wanted one of chris's tb's and ended up getting a Z6 im from chris too I have been in the car you can feel that the set up is better than before |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
let me know the price on the ported z6 intake and space plate shipped to 02119
now for todays problem my ------- gay ass glowshift oil pressure sender unit thats connected to my cdm oil sandwich leaks like a mother/ i removed it, assed some teflon and tightened it real good and it still leaks. right now i wanna kill some kittens. according to the glowshift website, the sending units is a 1/8 NPT Electrical Sender Unit. i am nut 100% sure on the holes on the cdm sadwich by stealthmode oil line kit screws into it just fine and dosent leak. belive that oilline fitting is a 1/8 npt |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
cmd glow ---- is gay that thing is innnaccurate like hell it fluctuates all the time.. and the worst thing is you cant see it only at night cuz of the glow ---- tint
|

Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
any suggestions on how to get this fucker to stop leaking. i need to put my down pipe back on
|
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
Loctite always seals it up when teflon won't do it. I ------- hate teflon tape. I use the red loctite, but the blue ---- apparently works just as well. I usually let it cure overnight before I start it, but I dunno if that matters.

HT there is your answer. Y8 has major issues with cylinder distribution of flow along with runners that suck major balls. The fact that my ported z6 manifold/spacer tapered plenum plate and throttle body owns a 600 dollar aftermarket skunk2 omg manifold/tb should be a sign that my set up with the Z6 manifold is the right choice. |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
Not sure about the loctite you may never be able to get it off again
|
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
I would try some gasket silcone making sure to be clean of any oils/dirt and letting it cure over night+teflon for the win
|
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
i ended up getting permatex thread sealer
http://www.permatex.com/images/Displ...otos/56521.jpg i put it on yesterday but i havent ran the car yet. letting it cure really good |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
Leak stopped? I have a manifold/spacer plate with your name all over it :y
|
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
nope, fucker still leaks
stealthmode block t FTW, hopefully |
Re: Turbo Vic's a6/z6 ef turbo thread
