Default Turbo a truck?

OK I have a 93 Dodge Dakota 3.9V6.
I would like to get some more horse out of it but they dont make any superchargers for it.
So I am guessing to go turbo. I am just trying to get some I Idea's on what I should use.
Thanks for any info.

Bryan

well im not a big turbo guy but if you turbo a v6 it will probly need to be twin-turbo. unless you deside to mount your turbo by your tranny of which is possible.

like the sr20det motor has dual t25's. and a guy on my friends ranger forum had a twin turbo'd ranger that on street tires ran 14's (don't now the turbo's he used). so teh power tot eh gound is totally possibly.

you don't need to twin turbo it. one t3 would work perfectly.

but the problem is you have to have a turbo manifold made for it or find one that was OEM on that type of motor.

to have one made would be pretty expensive.

ohh and i believe that you engine is carbed. just like the one in my 99 dakota v8 slt is carbed.
that might be a problem, cause if it was fuel injected you could use some FMU on it. but with a carb its a lot harder.

You don't need a twin turbo on a v-6. I got a 2.8 in my fiero gt and it is mounted sideways(as on all v-6 fieros) im installing my turbo right above the bell houseing of my transmission. Not only that but since my engine is in sideways i have a cross over pipe where both the headers connect (which is right above my bell houseing) on the left hand side which is also where my throttle body sits making it a perfect spot to place my turbo (T3/T4). As for headers im making my own and the cross over pipe with the mounts for the turbo. It would cost to much to have someone make them so i just went out bought a pipe bender , some stainless steel pipeing and some machine tool math formulas and went to work.I made the flanges in machine shop and when im done with the exhaust/ headers a friend of mine if going to weld them. But if you are going to do that be sure you know what kinda metal and what you are doing because if you mess up the cost can quickly add up.
