Re:turbo and supercharge?

I saw a project with the same setup somewhere. I forget where now....

I think if you knew what you were doing and had a good plan you could make it work fairly well. I don't see a huge increase in hp, but it might help spool time a bit?

Who was it that had this done? I think it was in a mag? ???

The mequires integra type r had both, supercharger to eliminate lag then the turbo for more boost.

boost lag=traction control

Re:turbo and supercharge?

turbo clogs the exhuast.
Supercharger drains the power via pulley.

Why would you want to pay twice the price to get the same amount of boost ??

Can it be done ? sure...
Is it smart ? No...
would the car be faster with only one ?? 999999/100000 times it would be.

Maybe if you used some sort of clutch on the S/C pulley ( like the SLK Kompressors ) that could stop working at say 10psi, then the turbo could take over..

Everyone used to make fun of "Mad Max" ( the road warroir movie with Mel Gibson ) b/c he had his S/C on a switch that only turned on the blower when he needed it, little did people know 15 years later Benz would use that system on there lux. cars.

Re:turbo and supercharge?

the 89 mr2 was supercharged and you could purchase a twin charger kit that would add a turbo for better top end. Yes, turbo and super charged. I have no idea how the setup worked or if the gains were that great, though.

mad maxx was the ----. road warrior was an awesome movie. if i was you id just run turbo. superchargers are not all there cracked up to be for max performance. they are better for road racing though and scca

Re:turbo and supercharge?

It would be cool. BUT like said earlier. Putting a SC on for the "hole shot" isnt going to shoot your friend out of the hole. Instead he's going to do massive burn outs never get traction and have ass loads of problems. Probably cheaper and better performance if he Does internals. RESLEEVE the motor and boost the hell out of it with a to4e Hybrid. That'll do it.

But if he decides to super charge and turbo charge his lude. Tell him i got a lude project as well. we can race and show him the money he wasted! hahah

but if successfully done it would be cool to see.
