This is my friend's turbo 2.5, at least it was a 2.5, he's got some Japanese 2.0 engine in it with his 2.5 heads on it. Subarus are complicated I guess. Big t3/t4 turbo, I don't know what trim. At 5 psi this thing hauls. He has standalone fuel management, Hydra? I think it is. He says his fuel map is all messed up and when he fixes it he'll run 15-20 lbs. All forged internals and what not. Pics are pretty lousy, but I think it still looks hot, here we go.

Yeah my brother's got one of those. You guy's think some of the Honda parts we buy are expensive? Whoo you should check out Subaru's aftermarket price lists Unbeleivable. And to make matters worse, Subaru tranny's are known for shitting the bed, and doing a turbo buildup like nonvtec's buddy did requires internals unless you want to stick with 5 psi forever At least on my Brothers Impreza RS it does. Even putting a set of headers on without ceramic coating or heat wrap will throw a CEL on those. It's crazy and makes my glad I stuck with Honda's/ Acuras

 

Actually if its a 2.5 all you need is the older legacy block because it has a closed deck. The legacy block with 2.5 sohc heads an a tuned link system an you can run 20 psi all day long.
