turbo smoking
 
alright well i finnaly got my turbo running i boosted up to about 6.i went around the block once and i popped the hood and my turbo was smoking.i opened the oil cap to put more oil in and it was smoking out of there too.. any ideas?

yup, toasted ringlands... oops, hope it was a good 5 seconds of boost.

why u add more oil jus cuz it was burning some? to much oil can cause burning oil if its as high as the return line in the pan causing backup in the return. smoke out of breather/oil cap usually means ur rings are toast. it'll still run lol jus really crappy

could just be oil/grease burning off, do a compression test

works fine for me so far... spools up nicely no cracks yet but if it breaks then i will say i should have listened to you guys
