turbo shot?
 

its kind of a long story, but i havent had my turbo hooked up yet, as im waiting for injectors to arrive, and its just blowing into the atmosphere, and i cut up my stock crx filter and covered the air inlet on the turbo with that so it wouldn't suck up any rocks.

well anyway, i sucked that air filter so hard that it ripped almost all the way around in a circle and almost sucked it into the turbo, lucky i caught it and pulled it out.

so today i do an oil change and i notice that there is oil on the air outlet on the turbo. ive never seen oil there before. and this was quite a bit, there was almost like a spiral shaped oil run comming out of the turbo.

do you think this is normal, maybe the turbo is just workin too hard with no charge pipes attached? do you think i should worry about it or just leave it and hope for the best?

the turbo still spins just as easily as ever, so i didn't notice anything wrong there. and there isn;t any oil in the air inlet side.

if the turbo is puking out oil from the compressor...its time for a rebuild...

Damn man i did the same thing and it fucked my turbo, never run a turbo without the charge pipes hooked up, you turbo will rev up too high and wear ---- out. I had oil coming out of the compressor and going in to the downpipe making my car smoke. I took the turbo apart and gave it a good cleaning in a dunk tank and put it back together. But it still smoked after i had the charge pipes hooked up. But only at idle. So if you dont mind smoke coming out at idle then you can still run that turbo as long as it isnt really worn and the wheels are rubbing.

are you putting filters on both sides of the turbo?

It really does need the pipes, because it needs something to give it 'back pressure' if you will to keep the turbine from going ape ----.

that turbo would destroy any type of filter that was placed on the air oulet. there is no way one could last on there.

i only had a filter on the air inlet.

and now that i took that filter off the oil stopped puking and it seems ok now. but next week im gonna hook up my newly made charge pipes and give it a go.
