Default turbo shaft Torque. HELP!

so im almost done with my rebuild. The only thing left to do is torque the nut back on the shaft. The issue is that ive seen two differnt torque specs for this nut....

this website here says 70-78 in/lb http://www.vfaq.com/mods/Turbo-rebuild.html

and the papers for my rebuild kit say 16 in/lb

16 seems awfully low. I marked the shaft so should i make it close to before as i can. I dont want to mess this up! Oh BTW all my lateral shaftplay is gone YAY.

id say just put it back to the original marks.....thats why u marked it isnt it, then after u do that just start with maybe 12 in/lbs of torque and gradualy go up till u get an idea of how much torque is on it

i just do em up till they feel fine...

they are locking so no worries.. and they will take a bit of torque cause they are both steel alloys i believe.

Agreed, I just tighten them up pretty ------- tight, nothing to the point of where its stripping, but not to the point to where its falling off either
