Re: Turbo Setup Enjoy
if i remeber corectly they hurt your spool time. they restric the air flow. might not be a prob with a 14b.

Re: Turbo Setup Enjoy
Some guy ( think in vegas, on HT) made 40 more whp taking off a foam filer (that was in the 300's though, 20hp for $40 would be nice tho). I'd also try relocating the filter, or at least making a heat sheild for the mani. The surface temp on the mani is usually 700ish degrees on a log, it will make the setup that much safer with cooler air.
My only question is... wft are those two hoses going from below the TB, around the motor, and past the air filter? :l |

Re: Turbo Setup Enjoy
I thought those foam filters were also bad because they deteriorated and got sucked into the turbo. Sweet setup

But other than that it looks like solid work :) |
Re: Turbo Setup Enjoy
im sure that thing suffers of heat soak, but nice setup indeed ;D

Re: Turbo Setup Enjoy
ya it probably does suck in alot of hot air, i use to just have a grill over hte turbo with foam but it really affected my spool up compared to now, but im goin to definatly fix it for next summer im taking my car of the road in2-3 weeks to rebuild the engine and paint the car etc so ill leave it like that till then but thx for the help.

Re: Turbo Setup Enjoy
ya the manifold is 2 elbows with 2 t's, got them at work there s/s, plasma cut my 2 flanges. my dad did most of the work on the manifold, first one he made even he was surprised it came out nice
