Which Turbo setup BETTER for D16Z6? IHI/T3 or 14b

Hey...

I would really appreciate if someone would tell me which
turbo setup would be the best for a '95 D16Z6 Civic si.
I'm having a hard time deciding which turbo setup I want to go with...
If anyone has any suggestions, please email me at pcalak@uoguelph.ca

THANKS

P.

It's simple, whatever turbo you get cheaper.

Ease of use..

IHI
T3
14b

Performance

T3 (depending on size and trim)
14b
IHI

What do you mean by the EASE OF USE?
Did you mean that it's easy to install, or it's reliable?
Also, please tell me what kind of exhaust manifold would be the easiest to find, to use it with the T3?
(would it be possible to use a civic CX '96 manifold with the T3?

Which car/model/year's T3 would be a good donor for my civic. Which one would be the easiest to find/configure? What size of T3 would be the best one for my application (what car is it found in?).
Thanks in advance,

Peter

he means its a bitch to make the plate/downpipe/install there is also clearance issues.

the easiest for a T3? probly a RevHard manifold or something, they already have T3 flanges and you wouldnt need to as much fabercation to make it work. most of us use the 'HF manifold' but that would require you to make an adapter plate.

Thanks for the info...

I've already read those tech articles, but I'm still unsure
of a couple of things... Would the IHI turbo and the T3 fit with the '96 CX manifold (that's what I'll probably get with the greatest ease). Also, please tell me what cars to look at for these turbos (I have a big-ass junk yard nearby).

Thanks.

No turbo will just Fit a stock honda manifold, you will have to modify it.

and if I belive, the 96+ precat designs are all one piece like emils setup, thats a bit tougher to do, and not so relible, welding a steel flange onto cast holding the heavy turbo.

I was thinking of making my own adapter plate for the '96 CX manifold to fit the turbo...
Would the CRX HF manifold be better for my application (and if yes, then what would make it better
than the CRX HF manifold?)

Thanks

Re:Which Turbo setup BETTER for D16Z6? IHI/T3 or 14b

"better" I couldnt compare one as better than the other, they are both poorly flowing stock manifolds.

the Hf manifold is maybe a bit easier to use, since it brings the turbo up a bit higher, and adapter plates are not to difficult to make. But on the other hand chopping the cat off and welding a flange might be a pain, Never tried it, so I dont know.

Which CRX's was the HF header found?
I live in Canada, and the HF probably has a different symbol. Do you have any idea what model of the CRX it might have been in Canada, and what years of the CRX was the HF manifold mounted on them?

Thanks,
Peter
