Question turbo selection help garrett T3-60

is this a good turbo choice for a mitsubishi lancer es 04: Garrett T3-60

"Stock motor"
stock mcf 191 @ 6000 rpm @ 127 whp

"Turbo motor"
estimated hp with turbo 202 whp @ 6000rmp @ 303 mcf

"Data to estimate turbo map graph"
pounds per minute stock 5.16 @ 2000 rpm, to 24.452ppm @ 6000 rpm
"spool up from 2000 to 6000 rpm without surge"
pressure 1.57

This is the link to turbo map!
http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/turbosupermaps.html
its the Garrett T3-60 "scroll down"

any info is helpful and i am open to other suggestions
Thanks

^^^^^^^

are you sure you calculated that correctly?
24 ppm doesnt sound right for 200whp
how much boost are you planing on running?

if these numbers are correct, the Garrett T04B-60-1 looks like the best choice. with this turbo you will start producing boost around 2500-3000 rpm. it will be most efficient up to 6000 rpm with a low turbo rpm.

Thanks for your reply! I caculated it using online caculators and im not sure if its completly correct. I typed out everything in detail spending 45mins but had to log back in and it deleted everything so. !

I agree with your choice, do you believe that there would be any extra turbo lag because of low rpm.

And i called on those turbos and they told me there for motorcycles haha ! do u think they would still work for my application ? if not im open to any suggestions like evo turbos but i dont know if they work on 4g94 compared to 4g63!

Thanks for your time!!!

your desired boost pressure needs to be entered in the calculator

when i stated low rpm i meant turbo shaft rpm. if you look at the turbo map you see that 67,000rpm is where the turbo rpm will be at. this turbo at this rpm is its most efficient so it a great match for your needs.

a t3 turbo can be used on a motorcycle but its going to be a big motorcycle engine

only running 10 psi boost with all the engine mods would be a waste. most stock engines can support 10 psi boost.

if you plan to do an engine build then go with low compression forged pistons, rods, cometic head gasket, and arp head studs. once this is done you can boost to ~ 20-25 psi boost with the proper sized fuel injectors and a good tune.

that is the biggest problem with high boost builds. its tough to find a transmission company that can build the trans internals to support 3 times the hp/tq. axles shouldnt be a problem. you can bring your axles to a axle shop and they can use your axles as a reference to make them with thicker shafts. your going to pay but it can be done. you might want to call around.

thats a good idea i will call around and get some prices, but with all the money i spend on this build i could own an awd turbo lancer evo with better suspension and braking and a more customizable engine soooo i think i should think about this, and the insurance will go up alot with an evo. Thanks alot for your help and suggestions
