Turbo selection

I have a 2006 Dodge ram 1500. Its got the 4.7L V8 not them HEMI. its 287 ci

With that said, what is a good cheap route for a turbo i could use? Ive been told to try a HX35. But what else is there? maybe off of another car?

Also, If i can weld this up with the flange and send it back to the Throttle body with the wastegate and blow off valve installed. What else do i need to worry about? I want to run really low boost like 3psi.

I will have an SCT programmer to tune the truck and will mount somewhere under cab. And use an oil pump.

Suggestions would be awesome thanks!

t70 would be a nice turbo for that engine. you can safely run 6-8 psi without an intercooler. any more than that and an intercooler is required. turboing a vehicle for only 3 psi is really not worth the time and money invested. you might as well spray it instead.

save yourself some work and get an internally wastegated turbo since you want low boost.
forget the programmer. go with an extra injector controller. these are great for low boosted vehicles.
