Default Turbo Rebuild

Ok, so a buddy of mine can get will sell me a 14b turbo from a 1g dsm. The only probablem is that its froze up. He said hed sell it to me for 20$ which seems decient (plus he doesnt know ---- about cars). But I was thinkin that if its froze, than that probably means that the fan shaft is probably scored up and I'd have to replace it. Would it be worth rebuilding this turbo? Or should I just buy one off of ebay or dsm trader in better condition for a bit more?? Thanks alot, I appreciate any info.

it would be more worth your time and money to buy a different one thats in working condition. those turbos are very common so for under 100 bux im sure you could find a decent turbo. and it would be way more to rebuild then to by another one

Hmmmm, so would that 100$ buy me a turbo thats in good enough condition to use for a long time, or would I have to rebuild it? I can rebuild it myself, so its no big deal. If theres a rebuild kit for cheap enough and I dont have to replace any parts I'd rather go that way for the relibilty issue. Thanks alot for the information.

either go to ebay and look for one or if theres a junkyard near you go find a dsm and pull the turbo out. that way you know if its good
