turbo questions

Hi, i just wanted to make sure i know what all the parts to my turbo is. I am pretty sure for most of them, but i dont know how to hook up 9,10,11....If someone could identify everything just for confirmation that would be cool. http://members.shaw.ca/jhumen

Re:turbo questions

Looks like an EGR valve. It was onced connected to #3 right? Just plug 'crimp' #3 off, and throw 9,10 and 11 in the trash.

Re:turbo questions

That is a Garrett T3 off of a 2.2 or 2.5L Chrysler product. It should have .42 A/R compresor and .48 A/R exhaust, making it perfect for a four cylinder from 1.5 to 2.5 L displacement. This is a realy good turbo, and is capable of up to 18 PSI of boost with the stock internal wastegate. Numers 9,10 and 11 are the Chrysler EGR valve set up, throw them away you dont need them. You didnt say what car you were using this on. Unfortunatly this is a hard turbo to adapt to most cars because it is backwards from most other turbo setups, and the downpipe adapter is large and odd shapped. It was designed to run on the back of the block next to the firewall and feed directly into the throtle body faceing the drivers side, backwards from a Honda, but it can be done.

Re:turbo questions

its for a toyota celica gt-s with a 22re engine. The displacement on those is 2.4 L. I would much rather have a t3/t4 turbo but this on was cheep. It is kinda a weird setup. Could i use an adapter on the stock manifold. Like a bigger, say 3 inch, weld el with a plate to mount it on.

Re:turbo questions

Since this is a t3 turbo, can i interchange it with other turbos to get a different a/r ratio. If so, what would be a something that would work better for my 22re 2.4 L 85 celica? I plan to have forged pistons, port and polish, and upgraded valve springs, mild cam, brass freeze plugs, and maybe some chromoly rods but i am not sure if i am gonna build up the bottem end because i heard the bottom end can withstand tremendous amounts of boost......I just think this turbo is too small... but the celica redlines at 5750 so its not like a high reving honda
