turbo question

we were installing turbo, we got everything hooked up correctly, but the turbo is blowing out oil from the exhaust turbine. we thought it was cause of the angle of the oil return line so we took care of that. then it was still doing it. so we figured the fitting in the oil pan was too low, so i had a friend take it out, and weld it in at a higher spot. but IT STILL DOES IT. can someone please let me know what we are doing wrong. it seems like the turbo is either getting too much oil, or its not draining fast enough. a guy that lives in the same apartment complex says its the turbo itself with something with the shaft or the seals or something and to return the turbo. just wondering what your imput ?????

Re:turbo question

can you test the seals before you hook a turbo up somehow?? cuz I think my seals may also be shot but im unsure.. when i bought it the guy "said" it was rebuilt... it has no shaft play but i just dont want to get surprised after i have it installed... cuz its a pain to have it down while i get it rebuilt again

Re:turbo question

When I first got this turbo from cheapturbo.com it had a little shaft play, its that normal??

and I clock the compressor to fit the intercooler pipe, could it be possible that I missed something??...is it possible to damage the internals when clocking the compressor??

Re:turbo question

They all have a little shaft play, expecially when they don't have any oil in them.

Unless you really wrenched on that fucker and smashed the blades real bad, there is no way you caused the seals to rip. Did you take the bolts all the way out or did you just loosen them?
