a turbo newbie first custom build up in the works ...sohc a6
Im new to this custom and its going to be my first HMT build up. After throwing a d16z6 into my 88 dx about three years ago and now its time to turbo my 91hatch a6 motor. Been about a month into the project but been thinking about it for awhile and now just getting her started.

1.Nissan motor garrett T3 turbo( dont know what kind of car it came out of been searching and no luck)no stock wasteg. on it was taking off by someone)
2. a stock DSM BOV
3.Vx/Cx mani with an adpt. plate ( bout to get it welded for a wasteg.) or a might find a stock wasteg. but i dont know if my T3 can be interchanged with another from another car.?
4. my charge pipes are just going to be stock tubes imma put together because dont want to spend it a pipes rather spend it on some kind of fuel manegment.
5. i was going to get a SMI from a friend for $40 bucks but i think its to much for a Stock SMI? Yeah or No?

Sounds like a solid plan.Stock SMIC will work it is not ideal but if that is all you have to work with then run it.You can probably get a wastegate acuator to work from a diff T3 or similar just may have to do a little creative mounting and play around with it till it opens at the right time.External is def better though and more reliable.

yeah i want to go with a external wasteg. but since im running on a stock a6 i would just like to run at least 7 psi but really around 9 -10 psi on a stock motor is my goal.
yeah the SMIC is wat i want until i get enough cash for the FMIC . i was wondering if i could get like an rubber adpter to run bigger pipes . (its like 2.0 stock pipes from a saab and stock misc. rubber tubes.) 2.0 to2.50 tubes/pipes or will that make me loose power.? i dont think it will but id like to be sure. thanks

oh yeah i was wondering my brothers pr3 ecu is throwing a code 7 but no check engine light or is it even throwing a code he said its blinking 7 times very fast and does it again and agian . i dont think its nothing but iono. hes got a b16a in a 91 civic htach and my other bro got a DA with a b1a with an idle problem? vacum leak?

yeah the downpipe is a four bolt pattern. from the 80's i s see . what car did it come from. and if you know what is the stock psi set at on the internal wastg.?>?
