Turbo on my prelude BA4 ?

First of all, nice forum and website, didn't seen it before.

My question is the following:
I have a daily drivin honda Prelude BA4 4ws B20A5.
Next spring i want to start with a turbo project, i know some stuff about it and i know a little what to need, but i found out a manifold is hard to find ,let alone engine management.
Do you guys have any idea where to find the needed parts for my car?
Thanks in advance.

How much power do you want to make??

Engine management is semi-universal. Turboedit may work for you but you could always go with an AFC and DSM 450's. Get a T3 turbo or if you want to spend the money get a T3/T4

you need a nice t3 48/60... ten psi will turn you out.

only if u go with an fmu which i hope you don't, go with an afc and 450's at the least.

Read this thread a couple of times and it'll help you understand some of the options for fuel management:

you need dsm 450s' walbro 255 intank fuel pump, vafc, and a 60 trim t3. you'll get about 245-260hp and 210-225tq at 10-11psi. you don't need a missing link with a vafc.

he wont make that much power with a 48/60 id say 200 to 210 ish at 10 or 11 psi on the hack...

he says his motor puts out 155hp. and a b16 which is what i have puts out 160. conservatively tunned (slightly rich for safety) at 10-11psi my motor is making 246hp and 212tq
it's not with a .48/.60 t3 but with a .60/63 nissan 300zx t3. that day at the dyno while tunning it made 270hp but that was towards the lean side of the afr. this is w/vafc. 450s',fpr,walbro 255 intank pump.

Re:Turbo on my prelude BA4 ?

i think the prelude guy can make more than 230hp atleast. w/vafc

dude, the b20a5 has a 1.48 r/s ratio.. and no, that motor has 155 to the fly, hed be lucky to see 220 to the wheels without blowing it up .

Re:Turbo on my prelude BA4 ?

ok...im here to school you ----------ers because ive done this exact setup before.. ;D..and more than once.

First off...the b20a5 is 135hp with 111ft lbs of torque to the flywheel putting a meesly 100hp to the wheels...i put 10psi on mine and it pulled nicely, very nice in fact but you have to figure your car weighs around 2650 to 2700 lbs. your going to blow up the motor also...it always happens...first turbo motor always blows up with these things.... your best bet with 8 to 10psi is go safc hack and 450cc injectors with a walbro 255lph pump. you will go lean with the stock pump...dont go with a big ass turbo...just go straight t3 turbo like off a saab. 14b will do suffciently but in my oppinion it spools up a lil too quick and doesnt have the pull a t3 would provide you on the highway. no one makes manifolds for these cars unless you get one custom made from a local fabrication shop....manifolds from other b series will not bolt up...your best bet...get rid of the car...buy something that can rev higher without blowing rod bearings past 7k rpms....but since its what you got...build it. with 10psi...the only cars you will be able to beat are mustangs...firebirds...trans ams and various other pieces of shits out on the road...and only if your a good driver...i should know...i did it myself. Words from the wise...have a spare block laying around cause your gonna blow ---- up the first time, mostly because of improper tuning. oh lord i dont feel like typing everything you have to do so im out.

louie

p.s. the 2 main reasons why i got rid of my prelude....the weight of the car and the motor in it.
