#1 where do you live ? I'm dying to build a HMT 5.0 fox body.

#2 your Hp goal is a little silly.... Its going to make more power than that VERY EASILY.

#3 Turbo sizing: I think the auto t-bird turbos are perfect ( .48/.60 60-trim ).

#4 injectors and FMU : YOu can get by with 8psi, but that's about it. Maybe 10, but I wouldn't push it.

#5 Drivetrain: Hope you either have 5 spare T-5 trannys or a Tremec/TKO OR A C4/C6 auto.

#6 MAF placement: yes its going to **** the MAF off if you don't re-curclate the air back into the turbo, but it will only make it load up a little during shifting ( most WRX, GS-Ts, and other MAF turbo cars do it with open atmos. BOVs.).

#7 IC choice: Baisclly its a budget choice. More $$$ = more better ( generally ). The powerstroke stock IC is a cheap one, that work "ok".

#8 fab/welding: I hope you've got a good gas welder and lots of time. IC piping isn't going to be fun, and downpipe is going to be even more fun !!

Just to help push you forward. There is a guy that lives in Tampa ( 30 miles from me ) that has a stock 5.0 engine ( rebuild and blue printed ). Its stock from the Cam, intake manifold, heads, to the block, and with a pre-fab single turbo kit he makes over 520whp on 16psi-17psi !!!
Just imagine what a modded ( heads, cam, intake ) 5.0 would do would do !!! prop. the same power on 10-12psi !! Of course its dyno tuned, and all super clean pre-fab, but basiclly a twin turbo 5.0 is gong to make 350hp all night/day long VERY EASYLY.

Good luck replacing trannys ( which is why I sold my 5.0, it broke 3 T-5s in 18months with a "bolt-ons engine", clutch, and drag radials.

the 5.0's are cool because you can just take the stock headers and flip em upside down and bam! turbo headers

Pretty much.... YOu still have to cut the header flange a little to make room for the spark plugs, and you still have to build "extendtions" onto the headers b/c they generally don't could forward enough, but yea, that's still 5X better than than having to build an entire set of turbo manifolds.

flipping the headers works with all (W) blocks, 289, 302, 351... it's really nice and not too hard, that's all i'm doing, now i just need my stuff so i can start

Well its been a while since ive been on here but neway, to reply to 89dxhunchback, i live in the south western part of virginia. and as far as my tranny, i actually take it pretty easy on it and it has never been speed shifted or abused, but i do plan on getting a world class.
and the guy your talking about that is running 16-17psi of boost, how is he getting away with that much boost and not hurting anything? or blowing his engine? Is he just using ALOT of fuel and a good tune?

His claim to fame is dyno tuning. He doesn't rev it very high at all. Honestly, I wouldn't expect to come too close to his numbers, but I was just pointing out that 350hp ( 300whp ) is going to be EXTREMLY easy to meet.

He may also have a F.A.S.T. stand-alone FMS on that single turbo stang, but its still VERY IMPRESSIVE to me.

Scary enough, the 5.0's internals aren't the weak point, its the block its self ( I've seen them crack literly inhalf like an egg ). Of course any knock and the internals are toast, but that's where dyno tuning comes in...

Most people will agree that 220hp on D-series honda rods are the limit, but they been dyno tuned to 302whp on race gas. Tuning breaks cars a lot more than weal internals, IMO.
