i finished my HMT kit a few days ago and we fixed the leaky wastegate with some washers . But still it dont reach full spool till redline. This turbo is tiny and should be fully spooled by 2.5k or so. Would an exhaust leak be the only cause of this. Im running without a downpipe but i might get one on tomorow. It pulls like crazy past 5k and traction is a thing of the past

 

motor is a D16a1 BTW.

 

check your charge pipes...maybe be leaking somewhere there to

 

what kind of psi are you trying to run.
the max that turbo will do is about 13psi

 

well it would reach 7psi at redline. It would not start boosting til 5k or so. I just put on a downpipe so il up date you after a few drives.

 

now that a downpipe is on it maybe reaches 1psi and the topend is gone.

 

sounds like a beat *** wastegate actuator to me... Put a spring on it too

 

Yall are right, its the wastegate. Should i replace it with a spring or use a spring as a helper. Should i look for another wastegate?
