lol, i dont count my welder in the cost of everything i weld...just buy a cheap welder and do it yourself, you will save in the long run

I just got this one off e-bay 170$ shipped, I think it was a good deal.

Not to diss BMC, because I think he does have great craftsmanship and highly recommend him if you need anything machined and welded...

I am telling you this because its another option. May not be the best option but I think the best one for your car and with your budget.

1) Ditch that 14b since you are trying to turbo a B18! Sell it and get like ~$75-100 on it.
2) Buy a used but in good condition Drag or RevHard cast-iron A/C compatible manifold. Most run in the range of $200-275 shipped. These are T3 flange and will require a T3 or T3/T4 turbo.
3) Buy a T3 .63/.60 or T3/T4. You could get a very decent or rebuilt turbo in the range of $250-400. Or you can go to the junk yard and find yourself a T3 for like $100.

In my opinion, the T3 will haul ass so much nicer than the 14b. 14b will work ok but just remember you'll be high up in the psi ranges to make the same amount of power the T3 will be at the lower range.

If you do the math its like this,

$300 manifold plus the 14b

or

sell the 14b -> $100
buy a Drag/Revhard manifold -> $225
buy a used turbo -> $100-400

Cost would be a bit more, the same or be cheaper going the T3 route depending on what kind of deal you find on the turbo.

woah I completely disagree with this. I have about $120 into my manifold.

Compared to $200 for this:

Now my manifold will outflow that log manifold anyday. Yeah its only an $80.00 difference but the performance differences are like woah. My welds may not be as pretty (cause I don't have a tig welder) but this isn't a fashion show so who cares. And plus you take more pride in something you build yourself.

For log manifolds I'd reccomend buying one rather than building your own. The BMC log manifold is a great price and a good manifold. But if your going to build your own manifold I dont understand why anybody would build a pos log mani. If your going to put the effort into a manifold, than build a good manifold.
