turbo leaking oil...... on 2005 yamaha r1

Ok I have a 2005 yamaha r1. I put a GT2560R - 466541-4 on it. When i rev my motor two or three times oil starts to drip from the compressor inlet. When I take my bov off and recmv the bike with out the bov. The oil does not leak out at all. I'll try and post a vid so you can see how much oil.

Ok details on bike...
The turbo is brand new and i have a .030 restrictor to the turbo. I'm running a tial q bov and a Tail Mv-r wastegate. The bov has a
Blace spring and the waste gate has a 4 OSI spring in it.

If you thank you have a idea or can help let me know if you need more info or pics on my setup thanks guys for the help

Sry for spelling I'm posting from my phone and the auto text kills me LOl also the bubble sound you hear in the vid is my oil drain line running into a cup and my scavage pump sucking it up. Just seeing if my oil drain was backing up

Ok so second try at vid link

your turbo is sitting low and the oil cant drain back into the pan. you are going to need to add a scavenge pump to the system to pump the oil away from the turbo and back into the oil pan. had this problem on my gsxr 1000 build. do not run the engine anymore as you can damage the turbo seals. ive built many turbo bikes. if you need any more help. lmk.

I do have a scavage pump. I'm leting the oil drain into a cup ob the ground and running my scavage pump to the cup to see if the pump was keeping up and it was just fine. I'm leting the oil just free flow out of the turbo no restrictions when i took the video.

The only thing that make the oil stop leaking is if i take my bov off the bike and run it. When i quickly rev the bike and snap the throttle close. I can feel air pushing out of the compressure inlet. If i take the bov off I can feel a vacume all the time. I have the proper spring for my vacume. And its a tial q bov so should be venting plenty of air. Any other ideas besides the oil drain. Keep in mind no oil acumilates with the bov off reconfigure or at idle. With the bov on the bike oil didn't axumilate at idle but only when i start reving

ok. sounds like compressor surge is causing the air to come out of the turbo inlet. does your bov open when you let of the throttle? these bikes dont have much vacuum at idle so your bov spring pressure maybe too high. your bov has to open once you let off the throttle otherwise you will see/hear the compressor surge. put a vacuum pump/gauge on the bov and find out what vacuum level it opens at. i think these engines only run at ~10inhg at idle so your spring needs to be pretty ligt.

The bov seems to open just fine and at least about half way open. The spring is a 10inhg spring the lightest the make I thank. I will put a vacume gauge on it tomaro or saterday and post the cracking pressure. I will post a vid of the bov while I rev the bike and snap the throttle closed to let you see it operation. Just wandering is there any chance the wg could be leting the turbo overboost. When you snap the throttle closed shouldn't the wg open up to let the turbo de spool? I'm new to turbos but not forced induction..... So could it be a combanation of both the eg and the bov. I'm running a eboost 2 controler. Should I try running the pressure ref line off the discharge pipe stright to the eg and see if that helps and bypass the ebc? Thanks for the quick replies and all the help

whats the girgling noise in the video. the compressor wheel stopped and the noise continued. i dont think your bov is your problem. i think you need to look at your oil drainage. the bov has nothing to do with oil so im guessing the oil isnt draining efficiently from the turbo and filling up in the compressor housing. is oil burning out the exhaust. post more videos. the turbo is a ball bearing turbo, correct? oil drain is crucial on a ball bearing turbo.....

The noise your hearing is I havr my oil from the turbo draing stright down into a cup then i ran a scavage pump line to the cup. The noise you hear after I shut my motor down is the pump still running and cavitating. The pump keeps up just fine. It will drain a quart of oil in 1 and a half seconds to 2 seconds.... I will post more videos when i work on it next hopefully tomaro. It's still weird it didn't blow oil out without the bov on the bike but when its on it does and I can feel air blowing past the compresure inlet.... But without the bov i feel a vacume on the inlet side like its supised to have

ok. measure your vacuum and adjust the bov spring to accommodate it. the only meaningfull explenation to the oil in the compressor housing is from compressor surge from the bov not opening when the throttle is closed. the pressure wave is traveling back into the compressor housing causing a leak at the compressor housing seal. this would explain why you see oil coming out of the turbo air inlet with pressure instead of vacuum. not only do u need your bov to open at throttle closing under boost, it needs to stay open until the boost pressure is gone otherwise this is going to happen all the time.
