Turbo Lag
Seeing as how a topic really hasn't been started... post what you're doing to help reduce turbo lag... maybe Shortyz can make a sticky post :)
I have no idea, other then increasing the flow from the engine to the turbo (better headers/port polish), a better wastegate, and even the charge piping can effect it can't it? What else can be done to reduce lag? Without changing the turbo... :) |
Re:Turbo Lag
manifold makes a huge diff
full race equal length manifolds help. thats all i can really think of other then a BB turbo. |
Re:Turbo Lag
Is it possible for cooler turbos to spool faster? Ie. an oil cooler prior to oil feed into the turbo?
Are water cooled turbos generally faster spooling then an oil cooled of equal or lesser size? |
Re:Turbo Lag
Ball bearing Center Section ;D

Re:Turbo Lag
Laggg...who cares its at the top end that counts ;D

Re:Turbo Lag
unless you have a shitty cx tranny like me...i tear people up then i shift, wait for power, and have to play catch-up
|
Re:Turbo Lag
spool time has nothing to do with oil or coolant..
i mean u might spool like 5rpm faster with a thinner oil. but whats it worth :P either BB or better manifold. |
Re:Turbo Lag
NX intercooler shot. That will reduce the lag ;D
|
Re:Turbo Lag
i think having a free flowing exaust makes you spool faster...... like 3", or getting rid of your cat.
