Turbo Kit For $2500 or custom setup?

Hello,

I have $2500 to spend on turbo setup.. I can order Rev Hard Stage 2 turbo kit from here: http://www.turbo-kits.com/del_sol_turbo_kits.html
Kit is good because it comes with a boost dependent FMU that adds additional fuel pressure when the turbo spools... and I will not need to tune
my ECU...

Or Buy parts and build custom setup.. which I think is better.. But the problem is I can't tune my car here in Republic of Georgia.. No one does tuning here.. So I don't know what to do..

What do you guys recommend? My car is 1993 del sol d16z6.

P.s, Guys It's my 5th or so topic here.. don't get me wrong.. I have money and would like to go turbo.. and need lot of help

Thanks..

you should kill yourself. you can build your kit for under 1500, and buy a laptop, wb and a case a beer, and call it a day for around 1900. you'd have 600 left over for some tires or a new clutch.

You do need a lot of help.

You come on HMT and ask if you should buy a kit? C'mon man, don't be so stupid.

We've told you multiple times that the FMU is crap, and that you should just tune your car yourself. Nobody gives a ---- if you're from the Republic of Georgia and nobody tunes cars. It's not that hard, just research.

Everyday I read so many new things that now I'm totally lost.. I know I should go for custom setup but last thing I can't get is tuning..
I saw so many things like hondata, chrome etc.. and everything seems to do the same job but I have never tuned cars and I'm afraid not to blow my engine..

Re: Turbo Kit For $2500 or custom setup?

here a list what I got or I am waiting to have delivered:
HF mani (took out from some '93 civic) - $25
adapter plate (made in nearby workszop - gu looked at mani and turbo flange, no drowings or anything - he is the master - he had the desing of the plate in his mind) - $16
turbo (T25 from saab 900) - $125
dwn pipe (custom) - $60
injectors (DSM g1 - Eclipse GSx Turbo) - $120
BOV (DSM G1 - same car) - $25
charge piping (custom alum self polished pipes) - $110
oli lines (custom made) - $35
cometic head gasket (it was a must to decrease CR) - $120
fine tuning (well... saved on WB :) ) - $80
some extra expences (incl chipping ECU, new timing belt) - $80
total: 800
I expect like $200 - who knows what heppens ;D

I am sure it will be as fast as other civics with 2,5 grands kit (or faster), and you know what - it feels great when you drive it, ur fast and you know you have built it 8)
BTW imagine how much beer you can buy if you will have $1700 left in ur pocket :S
I'm from Poland and I had no idea it will be that easy to collect all this ----, but it was...
In the beginning of May I should have all stuff in my garage and the built will start I will keep you posted.
Just do it

1500 will get u a sick ass kit with everything new, 2500 will get you sitting on the side of the road and hopefully shot for being a homo and using a fmu, ---- i wouldnt even trade a FMU for a dub and thats sayn somethin.

Re: Turbo Kit For $2500 or custom setup?

H.M.T. = home made turbo
your "CUSTOM SETUP FOR $2500" is a waste of money. especially with no proper engine management. if you want good advice on turboing a d16z6 go to the turbo projects section.
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/turbo_projects/
i found no less than 30 d16 turbo settups.
any one of those outperform your fmu settup.
fmu is for weak boost ( under 6psi )

for 2500 you chould build up a nice kit and probly have enough for forged pistons and rods and turn up the boost

Where the hell is the Republic of Georgia??? I'm doing my own research because I didn't want to get flamed like your getting it now. It's actually funny though I have some of the same quesions but these guys go through a lot of typing to make sure everyone is informed and here you go (with the ????'s) So far I got:

Turbo-Garret/T3 =$70
HF manifold $30 shipped
Tial 38mm Wastegate new - $200

I don't think I'll go over 600-700 bucks (the wife won't let me) I snuck that WG in there though.......she don't know about that one. You have to do two things to fit in here on HMT..... DIY and read, if not go hang out on Honda-Tech.
