If you're asking this question maybe you shouldn't attempt to do it yourself.

I think the point of the question is how to install a turbo on to a chevy 350 using a car presumably as some kind of tool.

Good eye. I didnt notice that at first. I would suggest first finding the smallest car possible else you wont be able to fit it into the engine bay. Personally I just use craftsman stuff but when you dont have tools, you gotta make due sometimes and use cars.

just get a set of demo derby headers, weld on a pair of t3 flanges after you shorten the primaries up, and stuff.

Anyway, after that route your charge pipes to a carb set up for blow through action. Like this -> http://www.hangar18fabrication.com/blowthru.html

take out the 5 bolts for the v8 IH mani's, flip em upside, rebolt. no demo headers needed!

There are so many sites about this. Just go search "turbo carb 350" or something like that. I have found novels of information about turboing a Carbed engine.

i haven't seen a q-jet turbo'd, only holley's, and their backfire valve was plugged with a kit, and fuel pressure was around 8psi. weld up a tophat for the carb, and the rest is bread and butter

Re: turbo install on 350 chevy

You have to modify the carb for boost. Some things are fill the float with foam or something solid so the float doesn't crush, re-jet the thing, you will need a FPR ect.
